My heart beats faster every time I think about my life back on my 20’s. Difficult times we used to say, but I miss them a lot. My husband was a great man. We used to trade bulls and pigs in the markets, sometimes tradespeople came to our door on purpose to negociate de cattle. We also used to trade our vegetables in a rented stall, in the municipalty market of Castelo Branco.

In that time, our house used to be full of life – we ran a tavern and groceries shop, that brought many people together, I can still hear the noise from all the genuine people talking with each other, as well as the music and barbecue smell that was coming from our basements, how I miss those traditional folk balls we use to organise. Good old times!

After my husband’s unfortunate death, I decided to carried on with the tavern and groceries shop, I didn´t learn how to read and how to write, but I was always good at business. It makes me laugh every time I remember how energetic and full of life I was!!

Currently I am living in a senior house. Times changed, and this house is looking for new genuine people, someone who can give it a new life.”
