In the design of the house, the location on the plot and the choice of materials, we cooperated with a Portuguese architect who has worked in France, Sweden and Barcelona. As a result, we were able to design a beautiful house that meets all the requirements of the present time and is fully geared for wonderful living.

The remainder of the land is large enough whereby both permaculture can be practised and a spacious ornamental garden comfortably laid out without compromises. On the east side of the plot, there is a private spring that supplies fresh, clean mountain water all year round. This means you can have your permanent water supply for a fraction of the cost (about €1000 including pumps, filters, stainless steel container and labour) of drilling a well, which will set you back at least €5000 in this part of Portugal. Also on the east side, there’s a small stream that can be used to irrigate the gardens and land.
