This quiet forest needs new stewards to take care of it. With two streams, a water well, plenty of trees (oaks, corks, pines), and an active forest life of deer, boars, butterflies, bees, and more, it’s been a place that my family and I have enjoyed a lot. We put a lot of love into this place and hope to find the right people to continue this project.

The land totals 9,739m2 (circled green in photo 1), and you are permitted to build a 60m2 house with two floors of your own design. We have already done the groundwork for you! A pit has been dug for a 7×4 meter house, surrounded with drainage pipes, and sewage pipes for greywater that lead to a greywater pit. 90 meters of electric pipes lead to the pit for a permanent solar system location, which catches the perfect amount of sun. We also created one field for alley cropping combined with silvopasture. But this is all just the potential for you to work with.

What already exists is a 14m2 semi-renovated shed, which can be used as 2 temporary bedrooms. There’s also a 12m2 toolshed, holding a solar system of 5KW, which is charged by a generator in the winters. Finally, there’s a 50m2 fully furnished army tent, functioning as kitchen, living room, and storage hub, raised on a wooden deck with OSB plating.

This private valley in the middle of the woods is only a 3-minute drive away from Arganil! It’s the best of both worlds: you have a quiet private paradise, but can also go to the supermarket in no time. Even Coimbra is only a 45-minute drive away. Very useful if you tend to travel a lot.

Connected to 2 public access dirt roads, 1 of which needs repair. The other can be driven with a normal car, but 4×4 recommended in winter.

3-minute drive to Arganil, which has multiple supermarkets (Lidl, Continente, Intermarché), restaurants, hotels, public indoor pool (25m), shopping streets, tool stores, etc.

10-20 minute walk from Vale da Nogueira and Sarcina, friendly farmers’ hubs with a population of about 50 people.

Working solar system with 4 x 200Ah gel batteries, 4 x 1000w solar panels, 5KW inverter-charger, and generator.
