The house has been rated energy level B and has double glazed windows and insulation, two heaters, one in kitchen and one in the living room (the one in the living room is called a Finnoven and is cladded with chamotte tiles and takes very little wood to create a lovely comfortable heat with infrared rays that warm your back as well.) The windows and doors are made either of Chestnut wood or a Brazilian hardwood.

Land with 2ha including two levels of self constructed terraces near the house where, before the fire in 2017 a yurt and wooden studio were standing, the waterpipes and electricity lines still run up to both places, so it would be quite possible and relatively easy to create two extra spaces for people to stay, there is a beautiful renovated terrace with stone wood oven for pizzas and 2 small rooms for tools etc, overlooking the valley where the charming village of Avo lies. I have planted kiwis and an asparagus field that starts giving from March until June, there is also a tangerine tree, two guavas, prunes, apricots and peaches and lots of herbs.

The land and house have their own water, partly from a little spring and mina, and also from a 2 year old borehole.
Rainwater from the roof goes to a tank and also shower and kitchen water, passing a grease filter plus reed filter first. The tank houses 2 happy goldfish that are 4 years old now, we use only ecofriendly products to keep them healthy.

Located on the outskirts of the village of Avo, part of Oliveira do Hospital, Beiras Altas. It takes 5 min by car to get there and 20 min by foot. In the village there are two supermarkets, a pharmacy, post office and bank.

The quinta is quiet and safe, the track up is a bit steep but access is okay via a normal car.
