The house is located in the peaceful and beautiful village of Casal de Ermio, belonging to the municipality of Lousã.
Casal de Ermio is a very quiet village and most of the houses are visited only for holidays.
Bathed by the river Ceira, it has an excellent river beach (Praia Fluvial da Bogueira) with barbecue areas and pleasant trails for walking and cycling.
You can easily cycle to the iconic Cabril do Ceira, with its walkway and Cerro da Candosa.
There are wonderful locations and a lot to explore nearby.
This location offers you easy access to the city of Lousã (10-15min), where you can visit the Castle, swim in the river beaches with crystal clear waters and visit traditional schist villages.
In addition, in 20 minutes you can visit Góis and participate in several outdoor activities. On the route you can access all the basic services (supermarkets, bakery, pharmacy, petrol station etc) in Serpins and Vila Nova do Ceira.
Also, you can get to the historical city of Coimbra in 30min where you have the main hospitals, reputable Universities and train and bus stations.
Most of the houses are used for holidays; meaning that apart from July and August it’s a very calm location. Despite its charm this is not a very touristy destination, with potential to offer a diversity of places to visit and live a simple and easy life.
The neighbors are essentially Portuguese and super welcoming and generous. The majority of the locals are elderly people; their families moved abroad or to the city.
They are happy that new people move in as it means for them sharing support and bringing back life to the area.
