The manor house is ideal for someone looking to run a historic style bed and breakfast establishment. It already has a tourism project approved from the Director General of Tourism in Portugal.

The manor house, which dates back to the 19th Century, measures 1,089m2 of construction and is in a reasonable condition given its age. It has stone window and door surrounds and the windows and frames are wooden.

The property, which is set over two floors, is filled with character features. All of the interior doors and frames are wooden and in a good condition with majority being double opening with glazed panels above. The decorative wooden ceilings are exotic hard wood and are all in a good condition. It also has a good deal of hand painted murals and Tromp d'oeil within the formal rooms, traditional for the era of the property.

The current owners have made some improvements to the property including the installation of two modern bathrooms. The windows of the manor house are aluminium framed and were replaced recently, taking care to blend with the original character of the property.

The main entrance to the house is via an external stone staircase with wrought iron balustrades which leads into an entrance hallway. Off this hallway to the ground floor there are three living rooms, all of which have wooden floors and ceilings with good examples of Tromp d'oeil to the walls. There is a traditional style kitchen, with a large fireplace. The kitchen walls are tiled with hand painted tiles from the 19th century. There are some built-in display cabinets within the kitchen, though it would benefit from some modernisation.

There is also a large, 'marquise' (enclosed veranda / sun room) to the ground floor, which has good views over the countryside. The marquise is spacious and has several part-glazed patio doors which lead out to the gardens immediately surrounding the manor house.

There are a variety of storage rooms to the ground floor, which could be converted into additional bedrooms if required. There is also an adega (wine store) to the ground floor, which has it's own entrance.

The first floor accommodation is accessed via an internal staircase which opens out onto a hallway, which runs the length of the building (55m). Off this hallway there are 11 bedrooms, all of which have wooden floors and ceilings. There are two modern bathrooms, which are both partially tiled. One of the bathrooms has a shower, toilet and contemporary style vanity basin with storage cupboard beneath. The second bathroom has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink.

The property is connected to both mains water and electricity, and also benefits from having a borehole on the land, complete with an irrigation system for watering the gardens.

Set on a plot measuring 10,000m2 (1 hectare / 2.5 acres) with many olive trees, pines and vines.

Situated in an elevated position with good views across the valley and surrounding countryside.

The property is easy to locate and is positioned near Cernache do Bonjardim, near Serta in Central Portugal. Situated only 5km from Castelo do Bode lake, Portugal's second largest reservoir, which is popular for all kinds of water sport activities.

The closest airport to the property is Lisbon, which is a two hours drive.
